That's going to depend greatly on what data you want to save.

You won't be able to do a 'device switch' from BB10 to BBOS7 and transfer things like settings or app data. Such a things simply aren't compatible. If you are referring to things like contacts and calendar data. Your best bet will be to make sure those items are cloud synced on your BB10 device and then they should automatically repopulate when you connect your accounts to your legacy device. Gmail is a great host for that. If you are reffering to things like photo's, music or video's you would be best to copy them to a micro sd card.

I just switched from a Z30 to a 9930. I have all my important contacts and calendar appointments in my Gmail account, so all I had to do was sync those when I set up my Gmail account and they all came right over.

You can use the BB10 Dropbox app (you get 2 GB of free cloud storage if you haven't signed up for a Dropbox account yet) to save all your important files (photos, documents, etc.) from your Q10 to your Dropbox, then use the BB OS 7 app to pull the files from your Dropbox onto your 9900.

    Good luck!
