I'm not exactly sure if this has been posted before in a one-off thread, wasn't able to find it so here goes.

I like leaks and I like Sachesi to tinker with the BB10 OS as I please. I've been reviewing what bar files can be deleted from a leak before installing and of course after installing with Sachesi. Most bars are pretty straightforward and can be identified by their name but for some I need your help.

Info used from this thread: http://forums.crackberry.com/blackbe...nected-917998/
    How-to remove these files: http://forums.crackberry.com/bb10-le...s-os10-828351/

Thanks to everyone participating in this thread.

Thanks for the work in researching but why would anyone do this on a device with 16gb memory?
I mean, I have over 60 apps on my phone and still have 8 gb of device memory left.

Yeah i understood what you were doing and it definitely had its place in the BBOS days when devices were low on memory. I doubt there would be any benefit to doing this on a 16 gb device like that is in all BB10 devices to date.

I am going to follow this thread to see if anyone notices any performance change so I will know whether I should consider doing this.

Am not a techy person, and correct me if I'm wrong, but some part of those files are populating in the RAM instead of internal storage isn't it? So if we can free up more space in the RAM it will increase performance of our device. Though we have 2GB RAM for our current OS10 compared to max of 768MB RAM in Dakota BB9900

Another thing that would help more is dependency tree for these files, then...it will make it more interesting because it will give more safety when we take out files that we think not needed for our purpose.

Exactly right. This isn't about the internal storage, it's about freeing up RAM and a snappier OS.

    Try-as-you-go.

I'd like to find someone with a spare Z10 he/she doesn't use so we can test what can be safely deleted and what effects it brings.

Payment systems is for paying for things I've never tried deleting it.
Any URI is ok to delete, including youtube.
If you delete setup, your device won't connect to a computer.

In general: to better find out what each app is for, just open the app with WinRAR or similar, go inside the 'native' folder, open 'bar-descriptor.xml' and you get a quite good description You can also open the 'xxxicon.png' within this 'native' folder and you get the picture of the app...might also give you a good understanding of what it is exaclty

Well, I tried this using the latest version of Sachesi (1.1.5) on my Q10 running 10.2.1.2947, and the "permanent" files wont delete - I checked the boxes for games & mmagic, clicked the trash can icon, and they disappeared, but a click on the "refresh" button shows 'em still installed. Chrome browser method won't work either because of the "permanent" category.

Am I missing something obvious here, or is it just because they've been reclassified since .12xx? The "copy an older file onto the device" method hasn't worked for a while either. I'd really like to get rid of games & some other shyt I never use.

Some files can't be removed on an installed OS. In order to remove them you'd need to wipe the device and delete the BAR files from the new install. Basically never install them in the first place.
