    343 pages, and just skimming through it is very similar to the documentation on the website. It is nice to see it all in one place though (MUCH easier to search).

    Yes the structure of the book follows the official documentation. However the book also attempts to provide an in depth QML and C++ tutorial. Best practices are covered throughout. Also Chapter 7 about networking builds a real world example in the form of a weather service rest client. You will find more advanced stuff in the following weeks on my website BlackBerry 10 Book | Aludin -

    As an amateur programmer, trying to develop BB10 applications as a hobby, I really appreciate this book and look forward to additional information on your website. Thanks for your effort!

    Just out of curiosity. Which BB10 device do you own? Do you own Apple or Android devices?

    I tested all the code samples on my Z10, which I also use for my day to day business. Also the simulator is very robust and pretty much the real thing, so I would basically use the simulator at the early stages of development for testing ideas. The only time when I actually did all the development on my device is for the chapter about sensors.

    At the moment I am only using my Z10, might switch to a Z30. No Android or iPhone.

    You know this might be a good idea for a sticky thread. Apps created by new developers for BB10 that read this book

    Just downloaded the ebook and started reading and learning. I'm at the beginning. Thanks so far for this resource.
    In chapter one there is an example app with the two swiss alps photos and a slider. Have tried to add two labels under the slider. "Day" on the most left and "Night" on the most right. But I haven't solved the problem that these two labels are most left and next to each other. I know that I can use Absolute Layout, but this couldn't be the solution right!?
    How can I separate them? Please help.

    The labels should be inside a container with a layout like this.
    layout: StackLayout { orientation: LayoutOrientation.LeftToRight }

    Z10STL100-3/10.2.1.3175

    Hi! Thanks for your answer.
    But this wasn't the solution. I've found it by myself ;-) You have to create a Container, define a Dock Layout and insert the magic words... horizontalAlignment: HorizontalAlignment.Fill
    After that you can position a Label HorizontalAlignment.Left and the other Label HorizontalAlignment.Right.

    That's it!
