1080p assets galore found in 10.3, mostly core apps like Box, Dropbox, Clock etc.

1080p device most certainly being tested-screen-shot-2014-03-24-3.45.00-am.jpg

1440x1440 is still a thing, too. Probably that huge keyboard device previously seen (or maybe that's the Dev Alpha X?).

Hey guys, is 1080x1920 and 1440x1440 both 5" screens? Are those figures even indicative of screen sizes or just resolution?

In theory, nothing to do with screen size. But you can infer.

Yes and no. Resolution is half the story, screen density is the other. So a 1440x1440 resolution display at, say, 400 ppi (400 pixels per linear inch) would measure 1440/400 = 3.6 inches, so the screen would measure 3.6 x 3.6, or 5.09" diagonally

    I'm not so sure.

Jakarta is 960x540. That means it has 518,400 pixels.

1080p is 1920x1080. That means it has 2,073,600 pixels.

    2,073,600/4 = 518,400.

The 1080p assets that are in 10.3 may be there for Jakarta. It would be relatively easy to scale 1080p down to 540p because it is just a matter of eliminating 3 out of every 4 pixels. This minimizes artifacts and other issues.

    Just a theory.

According to the OS files, Jakarta has an internal resolutions of 720p device scaled down to 960x540, but screen resolution doesn't matter any more

Also, I was wrong about Ontario, various files have various settings, but in the end, the current screen is 1080p

    That's good.

It seemed like there was not a new higher end device under development.

My Z30 is just fine with 720p screen. You can notice from the Zed10 to the Zed30.
