    Good evening All.

I am so glad to join your community.

My device is Q10 with the model number SQN 100 - 3, Software release 10.2.1.2102, and OS version 10.2.1.2141
According to the references it should support
    1. Penta Band LTE 3, 5, 7, 8, 20

    ,
    1. Quad band HSPA+/UMTS 1, 2, 5/6, 8

    1. Quad band GSM/GPRS/EDGE (850/900/1800 MHz)

My device is not showing the options LTE, HSPA+/UMTS, GSM/GPRS/EDGE in the network mode. it only shows
    1. 2G

    1. 3G

    1. 2G & 3G

on the other hand, my brother's device is also Q10 SQN 100 -3; the model name, software release and the OS version is like my device's. but his device is showing the LTE, GSM, HSPA+ options.

Why my device is not showing the LTE option?

    Is this a software problem?

    First questions:
Are you and your brother using the same cell carrier?
Are you and your brother on the same type of cell data plan through the carrier?
If so to both, are you in the same area, as in are you both near the same cell tower?

Different carriers or different plans can have different services and speed.
Also, not all cell towers across the area have the same level of data services, so older towers maybe be on slower speeds while newer towers may have the latest and fastest services.

Try your sim in your brother's phone.

My brother is using a different cell carrier. But i inserted his sim in my mobile, the 3G, 2G options are still showing rather than LTE, HSPA+, and GSM. Me and him, we are in the same room. His service provider does not support LTE, nor mine.
I will try to insert my sim into his mobile and share with you the results.

If yours and your brothers networks don't support LTE then you won't see any options on your device

But his device is showing the options. Is this related to blackberry ID?

It's possible his network is testing it but yours isn't.

I?ll try to use his ID in my device and see what happens.

Can i consider this as a problem? Next month i am going to Germany. If i used a network carrier supporting 4G, can i use 4G in my device?

I don't believe it is a problem. I think it's down to your network. If you can use a German networks 4G sim and the plan you're on while there supports 4G then you should have no problem

Your results won't find anything new because it has nothing to do with BlackBerry ID.

Can you post a screenshot of the mobile network options dropdown?

Also you can unlock your engineering screen and check there if lte is available as an option.

    http://m.crackberry.com/how-access-e...-blackberry-10

Once you unlock it, go to general radio and check the dropdown next to enabled RATs

I swithched the two sim cards between the two devices. When i switched on my brother's device with my sim card, the LTE option disappeared, it showed only 2G and 3G options. Now the two devices are showing the same options

I stll think it's provisioning on your sim card/account. I don't believe you have a problem with your device.

Thank you cookie20 for your reply.

I contacted Blackberry agent in Amman, they told me that this issue is based on the mobile network. Since our networks are not supporting 4G, our devices wont show LTE/4G options.

My brother is always traveling due to his work, maybe in some trip, the network in that country supported 4G. maybe for that his device was showing 4G/LTE option

i had to input the correct apn settings manually for 4G to show up, i have a factory unlocked sqn100-3 and my carrier is t-mobile hungary

Bottom line if your carrier doesn't have lte, and you don't have an lte sim, and your plan doesn't have provisioning for lte, well then you won't see lte on your device. All of these must be true for an lte capable device to show it is running in lte.
