Gone r d days of the leaks when one had no choice but to use the Autoloader. And the leaked OS became official only months after the leaked OS was installed by the brave.

At times the leaked OS never became official at all.

    So ... be it
I believe we'll see leaks again when major changes will be made. We're now in a "consolidation" period so that versions are public very quickly and don't really deserve efforts & risks taken by the leakers ...

It was too much to the point we had more than one leak a day, mostly bad ones...but today's rate of leaks has gone back to what it was before when you know you get a solid leak that's bound to be an official version somewhere sometime.

    It is a bit strange.

Internally, 10.2.1. is up over 2800. Yet, the carriers are still playing around with 22xx builds - which is what we get. We know that no new features are being added to this branch, so it makes you wonder how much more optimization has happened since the latest version we can get.

10.2.2 and 10.3 has been seen pegging a few analytic sites, so they are being worked on, but the build numbers are only at triple digits right now - not worth using on a daily driver. Once they hit over 1000, then we might see something.

    Hopefully.

Back in the day there was a network drive one could browse to a folder on and do a simple windows file copy. Guess that is no longer the case.

There are differences of course. I have to pay MS for an upgraded OS and this is piracy. I don't pay BBRY for firmware updates as it is part of the bargain of buying their branded product.

There were no additional costs associated with the Windows 8.1 Update (If you own A windows 8 license) I bought the Microsoft tablet (Surface Pro) which came with a license key.. Just like when you buy a blackberry you get BlackBerry 10.. or BBOS

It's better this way. We've reached 10.2.1 at least which is a great starting point to update to. Now we at least get some surprises for the next OS update

Updates *should* come quicker. BB10, as good as it is, is still behind in many ways when compared to the competition.
