    Could you have accidentally enabled the rotation lock? Swipe down from the top of the home screen to see the option.

    If you own one of the STL100-2/3/4 models, try doing a restart by holding the up and down volume rockers till the device restarts
    If you own a STL100-1, hold the power button till the blue loading BlackBerry logo appears

    Yeah you can do a hard reset... I had the same problem before but it went ok after several hard resets... take note, several...

    Turn location settings off and do a reboot.
