cant get either of the above to recognize my phone, and autoloaders wont run either.
When i connect the stl100-1 to the pc a message shows on the phone saying "Installing Blackberry Link" with a dismiss button at the botton. On the pc a window pops up with an option to install Link, even tho its already installed on my pc.
(will try and post the screen shot as soon as i can)
any help welcome!

Restart your PC.

It's a frequent issue, and rebooting the computer will typically fix it.

Another thing you can try is:
go to device manager in your control panel
under the network device, remove the blackberry/rim
and try plugging back in your blackberry.

As mentioned restart your devices first if that doesn't work there's a number of things to try. I'd recommend doing all at once to make sure.

Go to settings-BlackBerry Link-long press on your computer and delete. Then uninstall BlackBerry Link from your computer. Also go through your program files and delete the BlackBerry related folders. Restart your computer and phone, then reinstall Link, sign back into your BBID and start again.
