This is probably a dumb question, but if I change my SIM card (from Telus to ROAM Mobility), will I lose any of my phone settings that aren't specific network things? Will I lose app functionality? Will I lose contacts? Will BBM act any differently? I don't *think* it will, but I figured I'd better ask the dumb question *before* I head to the US!

Shouldn't affect apps, not sure about network settings. BBM I'm 99% sure it won't change. Contacts will depend on if you have them saved on your sim card or on the device itself.

Good questions
I just purchased a Roam Mobility sim card also.
Some of my contacts are stored on my Telus sim card. Just to be sure if you look under Settings in Contacts window you have the option to export to device memory. I did this and user an app Contacts Imex, to backup all contacts.

What plan did you buy and travelling where.

I bought a 14-day plan that had 4gb data, and unlimited talk and text. Paid just under $50 for it. Probably overkill on the data but I wanted to make sure I didn't run out. We were in LA and Orlando.
