I never really considered a tablet, however the amount of textbooks + what ends up feeling like a 10lb laptop became abit too much.

Picked up a LNIB 64gb BB Playbook off ebay with bluetooth keyboard for 76 pounds and I've been very happy with the purchase.

I really needed something that could multi-task and capable of loading documents and pp presentations. Noticed the Playbook capable of doing this ontop of a browser with flash so I was all in.

I'm really late to the game but On top of all the features above, with all the android apps available to me. I'm pretty happy with all the apps and features that suit my university needs.

    Welcome to the CrackBerry forums.

Yes, the Playbook is still a usable device. I use mine with the keyboard case. Adds a bit of bulk, but makes note taking a lot easier. Enjoy.

My only gripe with it is that it's too small to type on sometimes.

It would help if they brought over the lovely touch keyboard from BB10. I'm way faster and more accurate on a Z10 than a PB.

I still use mine daily too... Wife uses it as an e-reader with an app called SVIT. I use it as a browser.. its getting a bit slow, but it supports flash, so still quite useful to me.

Also watch the odd movie on there, thanks to kalemsoft (never was too keen on coverting videos to make them work with the stock video player)

PB does have HDMI port out to attach to monitor or TV. It also supports bluetooth mouse and keyboard. This kind of rig is necessary if you are going to try to do much typing with any tablet

Good for you for having the common sense to see how good the PlayBook is and how it is geared towards business and school. This is a nice forum and I must say I am the 2nd most knowledgeable person on this Site! However, the other members are tied for first.

Welcome to CrackBerry! Be sure to read up on making presentations with HDMI out. With true multitasking you can whip between your PP, charts, videos, pictures, Word and PDF files with the greatest of ease. With a BB10 And Bridge, you are free to walk around the classroom as you teach. You may think you are just a student, but if you haven't been doing presentations yet you soon will be.
