You need to check which of the carriers has coverage where you intend to travel. You should find SIM cards available at the airport after you clear immigration and Customs - you are more likely to find an English speaking assistant at the major airports rather than waiting until you get into town. (From memory last time I visited China the choice for visitors was China Mobile or China Mobile... that was a few years ago so it may have improved by now)

none of them will work... If you go buy a China Unicom pre paid 3G sim, the best you can get its 3.75G speed... Like 15Mbs down. The Cong boys are running TD-LTE, STUPID, VERY STUPID!
