Whenever I try to 'DP' a gif as my BBM Dp,i get a message saying that BBM is removing all the Animations on the picture, why does this happen?why can't my Dp be a gif?
This problem also persists when I try sending a gif, whenever I send someone a gif, they complain saying it doesn't move.

Sending gifs via BBM - You can ask the recipient to request a higher quality image. That should fix the issue.

Long press the thumbnail picture. HQ should be seen in the action menu.

What's the resolution of your gif? Large resolution gif files are not accepted by BBM as far as I know. I always make my gif avatars 300x300, though BBM can support upto 350 I guess, not sure but 300 seems optimal to me.

Also, I think the file size is a matter here.

Do follow what the above poster suggested. When you send or receive an image, BBM displays an optimized version of the actual image. So tap and hold, the vertical bar will appear on the right side, choose HQ to request the actual image from the sender. Once they accept, it will start the file transfer and voila!
