As promised, here are my summarized findings:

    - The battery is approximately 2100 mAh based on the drain test
    - That's about 18% more than the stock battery
    - This is less than advertised but more than the stock battery
    - I was able to get the battery to calibrate properly after 2 charge and drain cycles
    - I ran the battery hard for 1 week (much greater than normal) and it held up well and gave a noticeable boost

    Things to consider:

    - I do not know how well this battery will hold up over the next few months
    - The extra juice in this battery may come from sacrificing build quality which may put my Z10 at risk
    - There is no warranty or exchange if faulty
    - The battery's decline curve may be steep

    Final verdict:

For $19.99 this is a buy, but there are some caveats. I want to note that I had no issues with my stock battery and I think I'm a pretty above average user. If you're one of those guys getting 6 hours out of their Z10 then don't expect this battery to be the solution to your problem. They make 4500 mAh batteries for that (search Ebay or this forum), but if you're an average to above-average user just looking to get a little bit extra this is probably for you. If nothing else, you'll have a good backup.

See below for my experience with this battery over the last week.

My KINPS battery just arrived this evening. My review will be forthcoming over the next few days as I break it in. For those who are curious, I have also removed the sticker from the battery and I see no indication that it is a re-branded 1800 mAh battery. It only cost me 19.99 on ebay and I figure at worst I'll have a spare battery lying around.

If you already have this battery please share your experience as I'm curious. For the record I have no issue with my current battery life and I typically get 14 hours per day with solid usage. Like I said more details and review to follow. For now here are a few photos.

    Update 3/4/2013 @ 9:30 EST

Last night I popped in the new battery. The battery indicator read it as being 50% charged. I then left the phone on the charger all night (approximately 10 hours). I unplugged it this morning at 100% (no lightening bolt was visible). I'm going to use and abuse it today and attempt to drain it.

Before I continue, I'd like to add that any comparison made between the KINPS battery and the stock battery isn't going to be on a level playing field. My stock battery is almost 1 year old and has gone through about 1,000+ charges. With that said, here's some background on my device and how I use it.

    BlackBerry: Z10
    Model: STL100-4
    Carrier: Verizon Wireless
    Location: NYC
    OS: 10.2.1.2141
    Radio: 10.2.1.1926
    WiFi: On
    NFC: Off
    Hotspot: Off
    VPN: Off

E-mail: 4 accounts, including 2 Gmail. All push if available and synced at 1-hour. I will send/receive about 100-150 e-mails per day across all accounts.
Text: This varies greatly, but on average about 30 per day,
BBM: I don't use it much, but I do follow a few popular channels
    Facebook
    Twitter
    LinkedIn

I have numerous android apps and games on my phone and many of the popular ones (Netflix, banking, etc.). I sometimes play games on my commute to and from work for about 20-30 minutes.

Taking all of this into account, I easily get 12-14 hours out of my Z10 and very often more than that since my usage declines considerably in the evenings.

    Update: 3/5/2014 @ 10:00 AM EST

I have now drained and recharged the battery to 100%. I'm hoping that helps with the calibration if this is in fact a 2300 mAh battery.

I'm going to hold off on any more updates until next Monday (3/10/2014) because I want to run this through my regular usage pattern for several days before rendering any judgement.

In the meantime, I'll be happy to answer any questions.

For those of you interested, I purchased the battery from Ebay. Here is the link:

I think it would have to be or you'd need a new cover.

How is the mass compared against the stock battery? That's the key item right there; got a postal scale?

Forgive my ignorance... why would this battery (if it works) not work for any model of Z10, I have a STL 100-1 and thought the main/only difference was the processor?

The 4500mah battery didn't work for Stl100-1 model. Do well, to read other threads on 4500mah and 3000mah extended batteries.

This battery should not be the same size. Should be bigger theoretically due to the extra 500mAH size..

Not necessarily. But it should absolutely be of greater mass.

(That is, there may be space that is not used for active material in the stock battery, but is in this one. If so then the capacity can be greater although the physical size is identical. But -- that active material has mass and it is greater than either air or filler, therefore this one should be weigh more.)

I just bought a hippopower 2350 mah battery for z10 stl100-1. It's made in Japan and is 100% lithium ion battery. It's only been 1 day and so far do good. I got through the day from 5am to 8pm without a charge and still 10% left on battery. That's without all the tricks to save battery power. I skyped for 40 minutes and was messaging, downloading music, playing music and surfing throughout the day on and off. I used to have to charge my phone by noon especially if I skyped that morning. But regardless after the software 10.2.1 update my battery life improved greatly even with original battery

I'm happy with it so far. If things change I will post updates.

I do, but I won't be able to test until I get home later this evening. For what it's worth, the battery feels similar to the stock battery when held in my hand.

I just weighed both batteries using my postal scale. Both weigh approximately 30 grams/1.2 oz. My scale only has 1 decimal place in oz and 2 in kg so I can't get a more accurate measurement than that.
