I know how to filter inside the contacts (disabling linkedin, twitter etc) but that list doesn't when you are composing messages, making phones calls etc.

For Example, you can have all your social media apps turned off for contacts (Contacts -> Settings -> Linkedin set to off) These contacts are now not listed in your contacts.

When you start a new text message, click on the to field, and start typing, the list includes the linkedin contacts.

Is there a way to change this?

This is my biggest pet peeve on BB10. I have never found a way to stop this either and I don't believe there actually is a way.
