That'd be a good guess. Or like in legacy, open up the menus.

But if I'm being teleported I would rather go to the Seychelles. I'm done with this winter.

I'd like to be teleported to Cozumel. This winter seems to never end. Wind chill of -41 C expected tonight in Winnipeg. Brrrrrrr.

Back button should take to active frames.

Or 1 push of BlackBerry button is active frame 2nd quick push is hub

Back button should be back, in apps Web page etc... menu button should be the current apps menu or context menu. pressing scroll button should be same as swipe up.

Back button would be like swiping up, bring you to the active frames. Menu could be set for drop down menu or maybe hub? Let's say customizable

The problem with menu being linked to the Blackberry button is that menus pop out from different places in BB10, maybe something they are cleaning up in 10.3 top down menus and cascade menus. Sort of a poor decision anyway to have options in different locations.

I think menu will access the right side menu. So when you select some text you can press menu and select "copy". Or when you select some messages, you can press menu and select "mark read".

The menu and the trackpad work together that way.

If they make it so you can navigate up and down the menus with the trackpad, there's no reason you won't be able to move up the side menu all the way up to the top menu.

In BBOS, holding the menu key brought up the list of open apps. I think in the Q20, holding the menu key will either bring up the active frames or the hub.

Maybe they will bring back a list of options like BBOS. Why not?

And long-holding it would be cool to show cards of open apps like iOS or Palm and make it so that flicking them up from there closes them. That would be real good.

So what does the BlackBerry button do now?-img_20140228_180822.png

Maybe it takes you to a screen that looks like this.

I know all of us out here with BlackBerry 10 phones miss it.

    My thoughts are as follows...

BlackBerry button would just replace the 3 dot menu. Maybe hold to 'app switch' cycle through active frames.

Back button would be just that, back button within the app.

Hang up button should be hit within app to return to app draw or the active frames. Or the option to swipe up as normal.

Track pad used to scroll within apps etc. Scrolling through app draw, highlighting apps or able to select the hub or active frames from the page indicator below the app logo.

Thinking that the tool belt will be as thick as the menu bar is at the moment and hopefully it will be hidden when app detects it's on a device with the physical tool belt.

Seriously though. I think it will be the same as swiping up. Nothing more. You will still have to scroll to the right to get to the HUB. I don't think I would want to have the back button take me to the HUB every time. Just to active frames. If I didn't have any open then the HUB.

Bring the phone out of screen timeout. Scroll up and down through messages in the section of Hub you are in. Open a message. Move cursor in messages to copy/paste. Move cursor on websites and click links.

These are my best guesses since it does all of this on BBOS.

Maybe also switch between app page screens.

Why does everyone keep calling this "the tool belt"?! It was never called that, ever. Nobody ever called it that until the last few days. They are BlackBerry function keys, that's the name. Not "the tool belt". There are no "tools" on it. It does nothing.

Why do you want the back button to do anything other than just a simple back within an app. Do you want instant access to active frame? Well just swipe up from any place within the os.

Big proponent of Q20 and I agree, they shouldn't give too many options to these buttons

Customization is the key word. Leave the classic options as default, but let users associate a function to it.

    Here's wat I think:

Call - place call/takes you to contact
End - Hang up call/takes you to Active frame
Menu - One touch to Peek and one more touch to Hub
    Back - one step back

And also I think BB will put hardware key for Call & End....I mean real buttons. For menu & back, probably just a touch sensitive capacitive button. This way, you can perform BB10's usual Gesture too from the space between Call & trackpad and trackpad & End button.
