You have to get unlinked from the iPhone. Apple issue. Google and find lots of posts on how to do this. Takes a phone call to Apple.

I had this same problem. I removed my phone number from imessage on all devices and restarted those devices. This fixed some iphone contacts, but not all. Then, I logged into applied.com with my icloud ID and my phone number was still listed there. Once I removed it, I *think* the problem is fixed. So far I haven't had anybody tell me they can't send me a message.

Make sure wifi is off on the iPhone or the messages will still come thru.....

I turned off imessage and still had issues and had to log into appleID to remove my number from their servers.
