I'm using a 64gb micro sd card in my Z10. Have to format it first, which you can do on the device in settings under storage.

I have 64gb micro SD card on my Z10. It works perfectly fine for me. Insert the SD card and follow format instruction before you can use. I save all of pictures and applications in it.

Yep - worked from launch on 10.1 I believe - just had to format the card in the device. CrackBerry had an article on it.

I've used a 64Gb card since launch day here in Canada (Feb 2013) with no issues whatsoever.

I formatted the card through the phone.

    All good.

Yes, no worries as long as you format after inserting it.

One of the leaks made it impossible to format on the device. I had to use EaseUS Partition Master to format it then it worked fine. Since then I transferred to my Z30 no problem.

Yes and conveniently my laptop also accepts SD cards which makes it much faster at loading music and movies etc.. than BB link.

I bought mine at Amazon and it works perfectly. SanDisk Ultra 64 GB MicroSDXC Class 10 UHS-1 Memory Card 30MB/s with Adapter, SDSDQUA-064G-U46A (Silver/red)

I am a little confused. Don't apps have to be run from device storage? I have assumed that the SD card is good for media, documents, but not applications.

I do on my Q10 and Z10 - have a read of this thread first though, as some people have experienced problems formatting the cards:

In the safety & prod. information booklet of my Z10 STL100-2, it confirms that there is a 64 GB micro SD card slot.

You know, I really should have known that what BlackBerry says for maximum SD capacity is usually understated. So...has anyone tried the next increment...and spent a fair chunk of change to do so...128GB?

There is a potential problem with 64GB cards as they are designed to use exFAT which BB10 does not currently support. 10.2.1 was supposed to but it was apparently pulled.

You can reformat for FAT but there is a risk of instability in doing so. It's not a terribly large risk but it exists and can cause data corruption on those cards.

So it's better to just go with the 32 GB microSD card, since using anything more runs the risk of data corruption or functionality issues? I have a Q10 and I'm looking into buying a microSD card for it, and I'm willing to pay more for the 64 but only if it will actually work and be worth it

It's been a while since I've been on 10.2.1.xxx so I don't remember if you could side load the driver to access micro SD cards larger than 32gb that were formatted in exfat. But you certainly can with the 10.3.0.xxx and 10.3.1.xxx leaks. 10.3.1.1151 and 1154 (maybe some earlier than that as well) will detect that the driver is needed and download it for you. 10.3.1.1949 will as well if you have a Z30 or Classic. Other phones will need the driver side loaded. See the threads in the leaks sub-forum for details.
