Do you have the main volume on your phone set to high?

I updated my Z10 this morning to. 2141and just realized that I get NO sound whatsoever when using the earphone jack. Speaker works fine, as does Bluetooth.

    Anyone else seen this?

Download the free Blackberry Virtual Expert. It has a series of tests including headset.

Ran BVE and it failed there also. Was working fine prior to the OS upgrade, was listening to music while in the gym the night before. Also verified that the headset is working properly.

Buy a (fairly) cheap headphone amp. There is one called NuForce MMP and costs around $50 and it raises the volume a lot. It's small too and I have it hanging between my phone and headphones. It does what it's supposed to do for the price.

Well, unfortunately, the definitive way to figure out if it is the OS upgrade, would be to reload the prior OS. Or reload the current one again, in case something went wrong during the current install.

I fear quality loss with a " cheap headphone amp", but will check it out thank you

Yeah but they also gets a lot bigger right? I need a portable one. Some of them even have their own DAC's in them I think. That would be even better for the sound quality.

To be honest I don't notice any real decrease in sound quality with the MMP with my Sony Z Ultra (my Z10 has not arrived yet). The bass is "thicker" and deeper though. Some small background noise can be heard on higher volumes sometimes in very very quiet parts of a track but not really that noticable either.
