I was having a bad battery life within the last 2 weeks since the 1925 release, i only have native apps installed cb 10 and whatsapp, barely getting 14 hours battery life. I decided to wipe my phone and start from scratch installed cb 10 but did not install whatsapp and viola! Rest is history..

Whatsapp is a known battery hog. Stick to BBM and you'll definitely see the difference!

Yeah, will be sticking bbm definitely, have just invited my whatsapp contacts to bbm and they love it. I can now enjoy my z30 longer. I am now in the club of those who run more than 1 day battery life.

How does reloading an entire OS and showing the 'fresh' battery life prove Whatsapp caused your battery life to go from 36 hours (this image) to just 14? Not saying it is not true, I can just image there could be a lot of other reasons as well.

Maybe it is the fresh setup. Whatsapp hardly uses any battery both on my Z30 and Q10. If Whatsapp would not work properly I would have to sell my phones and switch back to Android.

I am glad most of the forum members are happy with BBM but here in Germany this simply is not an option. While there are more than 300 contacts on Whatsapp there is not a single one on BBM in my case.

I use a simple solution. I tell people Whatsapp is not going on my phone. I then send them an invite to BBM. Working so far.

I still can't get it. Why do grown educated people choose to use WhatsApp?? I'm not taking a poke at anyone but I am really missing something here. If anyone consider communicating with me to be of any importance they HAVE to reach me through BBM and no exceptions will be made.

It amazing were we have come that we complain about 14 hours of battery life. Nevertheless, I have to agree, Whatsapp will drain the crap out of your phone.

I know, but I wanted to state that BBM is not on the radar. There are 80 million people in Germany, 30 million of those use Whatsapp. As easy as that.

In my case Whatsapp definitely does not use too much battery. Not sure why the situation might be different for others.

It's because once you've installed WhatsApp, that's it, done. No adding contacts - it's as simple as that. SOME people don't want to go through the hassle of downloading BBM, then adding each individual contact, with each one having to download and add their own contacts. People like the simple, easy idea of downloading the app and then done, nothing else - all your friends in once place.

That's the reason why people use WhatsApp.

Plus most people aren't really concerned about security as much as everyone talks about it
Whatsapp works and it works well. Those who say Bbm is WAY better are delusional. They are both chat apps and each have its own features.

I for one love Bbm and the D&R Notifications. But sharing pictures is weak compared to Whatsapp.

Lol....I meant that kind of battery drain is not normal for that device. Mine comes off the charger by 6AM and is typically at about 60% by 5PM with mixed use, though very few calls. It does drain faster after I'm off work and have more screen on time which is to be expected. But even watching video and constant browsing would never get me a 50% drop in battery over 2 hours time. Not that I'm in any way claiming that the Z10 is great on battery though. I almost always get a full day out of it.

My battery started getting bad once I started using headless apps. As soon as I deleted the two apps (Flip Shush and Blaq), my battery went back to "normal". My normal is this: 6AM to 10PM with about 20% to spare. I consider my usage average, no games, some music, lots of Twitter, BBM, browsing and email.

FYI I'm using a Z10... just realized this was in the Z30 forum. The battery times may not be applicable, but maybe the advice on the headless apps could be. Wish I had a Z30 to test it! Haha
