Kevin, Adam, Bla1ze, James, or anyone else on the CrackBerry team, this is solely for you. Instead of beating around the bush, can you guys ask John Chen if the STA100-1 Z30 is going to be released anytime soon? According to the specs, this is the version AT&T users need for LTE service, and I'd rather wait to purchase it if it's on the way than settle for an unlocked Z30 that doesn't support LTE. Thanks.

There has been enough rumblings to support the fact AT&T will release at some point but it's a question of when really. No one knows that for sure. Personally, I suggest just importing one from Canada if that's a possible option for you and you can do so.

I was going to import a Canadian model but it doesn't support AT&T LTE bands. That's a sticking point for me. Gotta have speed for the things I do. Thanks for the response, Bla1ze.

Just bought STA100-5 from Canada and i do have LTE in Chicago and 4G in suburbs

But STA100-5 does not have AT&T LTE bands according to spec sheet. Almost every AT&T customer I've talked to who bought an unlocked Z30 said that LTE doesn't work, only 4G.

In some areas AT&T uses different bands

I'll have to check with my source at AT&T, but if you're referring to the 1900 band (I think it is), that is rarely used and not available nationwide.

    My source says bands 2, 4, 17, and 29. That translates to 1900, 1700, and 700. I need the STA100-1 which covers 1700 and 700.

That's fine, but the 700 band is needed to be complete. Yours will work some places, but not everywhere.

    I'm waiting too!

But....it's taking all I have not to buy the one you have. If STA100-1 never shows, I will.

Just curios, why not get an -5 and put it on TMobile. I switched from ATT and save 40 bucks a month and get the same or slightly better service. Plus their LTE Is faster here than ATT was.

If I lived in a city, I would move to T in a heartbeat, but their coverage, up here in the Rockies, SUCKS!!!! Both Verizon and AT&T are the only LTE platforms, here, also.

Will you really get 4G LTE speeds EVERYWHERE you go?
Here in Manitoba, Canada 4G LTE service is only in major cities like capital city Winnipeg, In smaller main city Brandon, and some smaller communities closer to Winnipeg. Rest the phones revert to 4G HSPA.

Even though you will not get it everywhere, as it's not available everywhere, with the correct phone you will have LTE anywhere your provider offers it. If you don't have all of the correct frequencies, you will miss places where they do offer it.

Where did you order your Z30 model -5 online?

I bought Model -3 from Verizon and it works on 4G (HSPA+) and I get up to 10mbps but usually around 4 to 7mbps. I don't see that much faster from AT&T on my other LTE devices, but T-Mobile, that's another story.. My wife is getting +30 usually on T-Mo LTE at same spots. I was considering moving to T-Mo but AT&T gave me a good deal so I ended up signing.
