What network you looking to use? As far as I know the Verizon model comes unlocked. Also you don't need a special blackberry plan so a regular plan should work. You are correct only edge on non Verizon plans.

Yes, it really is unlocked. If you already have AT&T service, go ahead and put your SIM card in.

A regular data plan is what you'd get for any other smartphone--gone are the days that you need a BIS plan.

I have a Verizon 10 and yes I believe they set it up unlocked. So if your in a area with good GSM coverage you should be able to use those cell towers just fine. Granted I've driven through areas where at&t was all that was there and I used the phone just fine. I made calls and sent texts it works. But if you want to switch out for a gsm sim I wouldn't do it personally. I'm happy with the excellent Verizon coverage here in the USA.

I have a Verizon 30 on AT&T. It works great. Almost always on 4G. LTE I get once in awhile when I go to the city. So for me 4G is plenty good as living in rural America there isn't LTE anyway.

I think AT&T's phones show it as 4G.

AT&T sells it's phones locked. only Verizon sells it's LTE phones unlocked for now.

Trying to get a reasonably priced z10 att for arround 120-150. Im seeing some in excellent condition, but as i said quite costly. Alot of people are selling their berries. They are just fed up of the hate that is going on with berry right now

You got 10.2.0.1791; move to 10.2.1.1925 and you'll find that the lock gets picked up from the SIM and you're hosed.

I'm on 10.2.1 on the stl4. Can't do anything on my pc because thanks to link I get a bsod when I connect a bb to it.

Sounds like it's bricked os reload should fix it.

I have a Q10 and Z10 from Verizon but have switched to ATT. On the Q10 I can get 4G service but on the z10 I only get EDGE service. Each phone is using software 10.3.1.747...any ideas as to why one phone gets 4G and the other doesnt?

Because the Verizon Z10 does not have the AT&T-friendly 3G/'4G' bands that the Verizon Q10 does.
