I have (actually my son has) a 3 month old Z10 which instantly died .... he was in the middle of writing a text when it went black,
Black screen, NO lights, absolutely no sign of life!

The following has been done to try and revive it:
1) hold on/off top button down for 10 seconds or so beyond countdown
2) charge overnight with original charger
3) charge for 6 hours using Playbook charger
4) change battery to fully charged 'genuine Blackberry' travel pack battery (having tried just plugging in the piggy back battery)
5) connect to 'Link' and try with no battery

Non of the above produced any sign of life!

Is there anything else to try before heading back to the point of purchase?

I'm afraid not, still black screen, no light (computer does not see the device either)

suggest to use the warranty and get the phone replaced

I concur, and hopefully it was not exposed to moisture or a drop.

No moisture or drop (to my knowledge!) Guess I'll have to return it ... issue is complicated by the fact the phone is in the USA & it was bought in the UK!
