I recently ordered a microSD card because it was on sale, and I currently do not have one in my Q10.

I remember reading one one of these forums that these cards can actually be a battery drain, and that they should be properly formatted to avoid the battery drain problem. BUT, I also remember reading that not having a card, and therefore storing stuff directly on the device was even more of a battery drain....so I'm confused !

    - What's the truth about the battery issue ?
    - What is "formatting" ? Is it recommended? How is it done ?

    I appreciate everyone's advice on this !

Most probably no need since it should already be formatted. However, you may just want to go ahead and format it just in case if there are some hidden or unknown files that you don't see.

BTW, we are talking about formatting your MicroSD card. NOT your phone Memory

You have to format your SD card if its 64 GB, and format it in NTFS in order for the card to use all of its capability, cause they come in FAT32 as a default which only uses half space.
