This would be awesome! Especially if you look at the cb10 app and others that as you use them get bigger and bigger, like 500+ mb for cb10 alone until I reinstalled it. More space = awesome!

Good luck with that. Do any phones save apps to an SD?

Too bad it wouldn't do it with games only. Games take up most of my space. Maybe the BlackBerry could install a small file which links to the main file on the SD card. They could somehow link the 2 with a serial number special to the phone? Maybe that would work?

If none of the other phones can do it, then this would be a great function for Blackberry to add in order to leapfrog the competition.

Surely they could allow you to download the bulk of the app on to the SD card, and store some kind of secure license key on the handset memory for it to work.

Alternatively, at the very least, allow free apps to be stored on to the SD

It's certainly possible so I don't know why they do not do it.

    16gb never felt so small.

Just because an app is free doesn't mean that the developer wants his assets and (part of) the source code lying around unprotected.

Who said anything about it lying around unprotected?

That doesn't sound like the BlackBerry way to me.

If you are using android apps they can be loaded to the SD card utilizing Ghost Commander available at blackberry world, or Clean Master an android utility available through from Snap.

Sure ok because the APK files that we've all been downloading isn't an asset lying around waiting to be decompiled?

I don't think this is ever gonna happen, considering the fact that BlackBerry from older devices to 6 os to 7 to 10, everywhere it's on phone mem. If they wanted to do, they would have surely done it already. And as always security is what is stopping them from doing so.
Only thing probably they can do and is still effective is, while downloading game or app. It downloads it to phone mem and then installs it, here they can make a modification to atleast download it to mem card and then install from there to phone. Wil surely be useful.
And apart from that, atleast andriod sideloads can be installed on mem card which might not be posing any security issues, although I am not sure about it.

They do make a 64 Gig internal storage version BB10 device. Sadly, it is quite expensive....
