    I currently have an LG G2 and i'm studying the possibility of swapping it for a Blackberry phone like the Z30. But i understand most or some Google services are still barred from the BB10.2 OS meaning one cannot sign-in to your Google account.

    So, i would like to ask what alternatives are there available for the following which i use:
    * via Blackberry World or third-party Play store alternative

    1. Google maps
    * apart from beMaps
    2. Google Translate
    3. Google Currents
    4. Google Keep
    * apart from Evernote
    5. Google Chrome
    6. Google Now or Google Search
    7. Google Hangouts
    8. Wikipedia
    9. Weather app
    10. Instagram client
    11. Appy Geek
    12. Video player
    13. Youtube (apart from fast tube)
    14. Quickpic

    Please advice. Thanks.

    I think its better stay with lg g2 if your google user since there are not much of alternatives for google services and the ones available you already count them out

    Google Maps works perfectly well on the Z30. Android apps that are dependent on Google Maps do not work. For example, the find a Starbucks store part of the Starbucks app does not work. However, the rest of the app works perfectly well.

    Yes, by default Google maps Android API's v1 and 2 don't work well. But there is a way of patching those apps which require those API's to function properly. Check this thread for more details on how to patch apps that requires Google maps Android API's How to fix any Android app dependent on Google Maps API and make maps working

    BTW, we got Starbucks to work perfectly by patching it.

    My other question to this is will a third-party app store like 1Mobile or Good e-reader be installed on the Z30 with no problems? If Yes then "in theory" will all apps within that store work?

    The instructions i was given on the link seems to be familiar with me. It looks like BB has opened up the OS for easy installations of third-party app stores. It's now slowly getting clear to me.

    But, what other third-party app stores i can install on my BB device?

    So far any experience with non-working apps? Will "well-known" or "top" apps be generally working you think?

    I appreciate and understand one can install third-party app stores including Amazon's. As i said i'm quite familiar with how it is installed. But it would be interesting to know if most percentage of apps (8 out of 10 or 80%-90%, etc) would work or compatible with the new OS?

    With 10.3, Android compatibility will improve. All apps relying on Google services framework will not work. If you want this, go for a proper Android device. As for the percentages question: its almost impossible to give you a proper answer because nobody tested the million plus apps in Google Play Store one by one to see what will work and what not. There is a discussion thread on the percentages here: http://forums.crackberry.com/showthread.php?t=932685

    Would the 98% be from BB OS 10.2.x via third-party apps stores?

    10.3 via third party stores. The recent Amazon deal would imply to me that 100% of all Amazon app store apps will work on BlackBerry 10.3.

    I would like to know the thread please.

    So, would that mean with OS 10.2.x it's not a guarantee that apps downloaded from third-party apps such as 1Mobile would work? Or is the belief or assumption that most of them apps will work?

    Search patching Android apps. It is an app called Snap. Technically, it violates the Google services user agreement.

    As i do not own a PC or a Mac i think Installing Snap or patching Google services will be the least of my concerns at the moment. I'll be quite happy if installing apps via third-party app stores will have an almost 100% compatibility then i'll go thru that route.

    I have tried 1Mobile, Aptoide & Amazon App Store. Again, i understand that not all Android apps will work or is compatible but i just wish that there are other workarounds.

    I''m not speculating here but would there be better Android app compatibility in 10.3 you think? Will we be seeing that?
