Hi,

Just letting you all know that Mireo Don't Panic has received map updates. The map updates are done from the 2nd page in the Settings screen of the app.

I am currently updating British Isles, Europe and North America maps all to September 2013 (from March 2013).

It's a good opportunity to move the maps to SD card if you haven't done so already.

Yep, it will ask you where you would like the maps downloaded to. I have successfully been running them from SD card for a while now. For people with the North American maps this is a big advantage, they are huge!

There is an annoying bug with the map updates: if Mireo shows you that there are updates for your maps available and you don't load it immediately, the app doesn't find your current maps again when you start the app the next time. Then you have to download the old maps again before you can download the newest maps. For the western europe maps that means that you have to download 3.2GB twice!

Where do you see that? Just opened it and checked the store? The user interface still befuddles me sometimes!

edited to add: Ah, found it by scrolling further down. Yup, updates for US and Europe (I do hope that I still have the z10 when I next venture to Europe, whenever that might be!!!!!). Anytime I update Mireo is when I'm glad that I still have UNlimited data. My wifi (or isp) is incredibly slow. 6GB for europe and tons more for the US.

Does the update tells you that it is an update? I checked my previously downloaded map and I can download it again. Does that mean it has an update? Or I'm just wasting my time :P

Still going all of these hours later (almost 6 hours) and I only recall that there was an UPDATE button. It might have said updates available when I scrolled down. Sheesh, my download speed (data, not wifi) is all over the place. 550kb/s, to 300kb/sec to 1kb/s

How about 6 MegaBytes/s on T-Mobile LTE?

That is how I got it.

You have to go to Settings and then scroll down and choose to check for updates.
