So most of the APK's I have loaded through Snap seem to work fine, but two APK's that consume a lot of device time - Netflix and Spotify have the following issues for me:

Netflix - The app loads, but when I click a movie to stream, I am stuck on the Netflix loading screen, the movie never comes up, not even the first frame. Anyone else seeing this?

Spotify - Works great, but when the device's lock screen kicks in, the stream begins to stutter, and then recovers when the lock screen (swipe up) is removed. This does not happen on an Android device - Spotify streams fine when the lock screen kicks in.

My device: Z10, STL100-1, 10.2.1.537

Anyone else have these issues?

I downloaded Netflix from Amazon, and it works great. You may try that and see if that version works better for you.

I have problems with Spotify now with the latest update and 10.2.1 where there's a lot of static, songs pause, drop out, continue, only to drop out again. I had an older sideloaded version in 10.2 that worked like a charm. I also swear I was able to connect it up to my TV's sound system via HDMI cable and get 5.1 sound whereas I now only seem to be able to get 2.1. At any rate, I need to continue trouble-shooting since I really like Spotify.

Downloaded netflix with snap so it's the latest version I assume?
Works perfectly on wifi and over cellular.

The version on amazon store might be out dated try the latest apk

Are you by any chance using a STL 100-1?
The Netflix problem you described has been reported on 100-1 devices only ; we still don't know of any solution to it.

It looks like the same issue applies to Discovery App. When I tap for video the screen hangs out for ever. However I think that it is related to the last update of the OS. I got my Z10 about 3 weeks ago. Before installing 10.2 I was able to stream from Discovery but it seems like not any more.

Okay, thanks. In this thread, people were reporting STL-100-1 as having these unique issues - with Netflix, at least.

I have the same problem with screen timeout on my z10 causing stutter when using Spotify in offline mode. Also, have problems with the odd stutter on tracks when multi tasking. Does this reveal a weakness in the power of the device? A fix would be great guys.

Unfortunately, it is likely system level Android API code that plays nicely with how Android sleeps, and the processes/threads that are awake and have adjusted priorities during Android's sleep state. My guess is the only way this will get solved is if the original application developers write OS10 specific code to handle this, or the BalckBerry OS team directly modifies how OS10 behaves to simulate Android's sleep states, or reroutes functionality to some OS10 wrapper code that works during OS10 sleep state(s).

hello, the problem with netflix 100-1 is a problem with video playback. I leave the link to a version of Netflix works perfect.
you just have to enter in the app settings and change the play mode and go! working.

Tested with 10.2.1.2102 (10.2.1.2141) and Spotify (last store version) still suffers from cracking and stuttering when screen is off

Both spotify and Netflix work without a glitch on my z30. I'm running 10.2.1.2160. Also I'm on t-mobile.
For spotify I'm running version 10.0.82 I do experienced some rare crackling when driving on low signal areas but other than that it's perfect. I pay for the premium service don't know if it has anything to do with that.
For Netflix i'm using 3.4.0 build 1492 everything is smooth as a lute both on WiFi and 4G Lte. I'm also paying the monthly fee.
Other variants I have Google settings and login services installed, used to have the play store but it kept opening and failing to connect for some reason. So it got uninstalled. Good luck to everyone trying these out there.

Has anyone checked how is spotify working on STL100-1 with 10.3 leak? Since 10.2.1.537 listening to music is almost impossible when screen is turned off.
