I actually started a similar thread but it was limited to one app. Now after checking other apps I have discovered others that do not work at all so far. Surely others are having this same issue.
Here is what I have done to get these apps to work:
    Uninstalled
    Deleted
    Reinstalled
    Check app permissions
    Checked third party app installs
    Rebooted several times
    Pulled the battery
    Did a wipe

Here is the list I have so far:
Leo -It opens to a black screen
Deluxe Moon -It opens to a black screen
News Republic-it opens to a black screen
Skype-it opens to a black screen and there is no differance between radio on or Wifi on.
Overdrive Media-it opens to a black screen
Kobo-it opens to a black screen
Poynt-it opens to a black sceen

That is interesting. Of these apps that I see not working one has no sound of any kind. I think all of these are Android apps so there must be a port issue. Thanks

Opera mini works, Opera browser beta does not.

Kobo is in bbw (The BBW version is an android port and works as an epub reader)

I may have another issue that is causing this. I tried to install the Amazon app store and it sits there says processing endlessly. I rechecked my settings and they are correct for third party apps. Maybe I need to do a fresh install. This is starting to become a problem.

Get the official versions from App world. My Kibosh and Skype work fine. If they aren't working, it could be a problem from your Android runtime.

Hopefully, you didn't come from a leak.

I can't get Uber to work.

It installs and lets you enter your login details, but crashes when loading the main app.
I've also installed the play store and play service. I think it needs the real stuff for map integration.

If you read my post my apps are native. They do not work. It was suggested to try downloading them from an Android site. Thanks

Whoa-ho, big "ching" $$$ Merriam-Webster Collegiate & Oxford English Smaller dictionaries DO NOT work. Neither does the trial versions or the TR's of Collins.
Methinks that any major reference publisher's app may not work if these examples are the case.
    Just say No.

Skype and Kobo in app world are both Android ports - they're not native apps. The versions in Google Play are just newer.

As an aside, Kobo latest version from Play works smoothly for me, haven't tried Skype in a couple months.
