Since the z10 I am using didn't get the update cos of the carrier, I decided to try a brand new z10 I had with me. So turned it on with no sim and started the set up. But even that is only coming up with the previous os update. Its a factory unlocked phone. Why can't I get the new update.. confused??

I presume it's still a branded phone. Unlocked or not, it's set to a carrier, unless unbranded or another carrier's SIM is inserted.

Save yourself from hassle and download the 10.2.1.1925 autoloader. It's the same OS.

I have an unlocked z10 and I haven't got the update yet. Are you sure it is the same OS? I mean, since I'm not linked to carriers it seems logical I wouldn't get network optimization in the update anyways, right?
The autoloader loads the official Os or the leaked one? Thanks

Yes it is the SAME. It's bit by bit identical. The OS version is the same. If something else was changed, the OS version will also change, regardless of how small the change is.

The 10.2.1.1925 became a leak because it was unofficially released. Now, it has become an official OS, because it has been officially released, but it's all the same since the OS version is the same.

Download blackberry link on your computer, tether your phone via USB and voila 10.2.1

Have been trying with link for the last few days on my factory unlocked z30 and no update so I can understand your frustration. Worse is that Q10s and Z10s on my carrier network have the update.

I might have a way for Link to force an update, but I'm not sure if it'll work. Still, if it doesn't work, you'll have the Sachesi files.
    1. Use Sachesi/10Bars/whatever to download the upgrade files for 10.2.1.1925 for your phone (since it's a Z30, try Country 302, Carrier 720, Variant STA100-5)
    2. Go to C:\Users\<your username here>\AppData\Local\Research In Motion\Application Loader\Cache and create a folder called "18a9f7427d367a46f763f9b79a61b18137278210" (no quotes).
    3. Close Link and copy all of the files that Sachesi downloaded to that folder you just made
    4. Start Link and cross your fingers
