I have had the App Files & Folders for quite sometime on the playbook but never really explored the inner file structure of the playbook.

But today I went deep and was very surprised how closely it resembles linux. I've read it before that QNX is Unix based, but I found the similarities very interesting.

I wish I was a programmer and I knew what I was looking at because I was viewing a lot of Config files with regards to USB configurations etc.

The area I was looking around was in...

Playbook/etc/system/enum/device/usb

In there there were the following files
Char
Default
Ipod
Mass
Net
Tuner
Volumecontrol

And I was able to view each file... Essentially copy to clipboard and view it.

Can you do anything with these files?? Uncomment some functionality?

I was actually surprised I could see so much of the inner file structure.

Just curious to know what I'm looking at.

The PlayBook OS is in fact QNX, which is based on Unix. Linux is based on Unix too. So that's why it's similar.

When you run an app (any app, including Files & Folders) on your PlayBook, it is run under a specific user account. That user account only has limited access rights. Most of the files outside your /accounts/1000/shared folder are either read-only or entirely off-limits. There's lots to explore (check out the /pps folder for instance) but there isn't much you can change.
