I have the new official 10.2.1 os, and it's allowing me to download apk files. But for some reason when I want to install them, it gets stuck on the processing screen, every single time. And it's so frustrating after waiting a year for something like this to be available. Am I doing something wrong?.. any help on how to fix this?

I am having the same issue...
I even tried a security wipe thinking it may be because of the unlocked runtime I sideloaded but no luck!!

You gotta download an android app from BBW and start it
The runtime needs to be initiated after an update or install

I have tried every possible solution provided so far and these apps are still not working. Only the SNAP app is working and while it does download the apk files, the installer is stuck in the 'processing' screen for infinity. I downloaded the '8 tracks' app from BBW, but it didn't start either. In fact, the phone got stuck. It would be highly helpful if someone from Blackberry could get on to this immediately.

How do you initiate the runtime? I have a z10 with the same issue. I have updated to 10.2.1. When I click on the apk file it just gets stuck on processing.

It's no more about the apk apps. Even the android ports from the BlackBerry World have stopped working.

Sometimes, restart the phone may help. Not sure you've tried? If not try it and play with apk again.

Have you tried a reboot? Do you have the Runtime from BlackBerry World? All the apps I downloaded work. Sometimes it would get stuck while processing, but I just backed out and tried again a few minutes later. Even Spotify works! The one app I was waiting for.

I've tried everything, restart, reboot, battery pull, downloading an android app off Blackberry World first (and they don't even open themselves). If I don't sort this out today I'm done with BlackBerry and side loading and going through all this hassle now too just to get a few decent apps

If they don't work from bbworld either even after restarting your device, I think the only thing that might help is to wipe your device.

No android apps will work on my phone either.
Weird how some apps will work on some phones and not on others even though it's the same OS. I never installed any leaks either. Could that have something to do with it?

Seems you'll have to reinstall the android runtime according to another thread, those of us who installed the leak didn't have to worry about that because the autoloader wiped our devices, but because it was installed over your old OS your old unlocked android runtime that you may have installed is still present and isn't relevant anymore.

I was lead to believe that this new os has its own android run time though?.. so much hassle. I don't want to wipe anything off my phone though, it's not worth loosing everything for

Just install the android runtime bars from the thread that I posted, it won't wipe your device and it will work afterwards. It's not working because the official OS update didn't seem to wipe the old unlocked android runtime.

ok, I have the same problem.
only the processing-screen and nothing else.

as you said, I�ve downloaded the bars in the thread and installed them.
before the new install, I had:
sys.android 127.0.0.595
sys.android.shell 127.0.0.595

after installing the new bar file from the thread, I only had one in the system:
sys.android 10.2.1.108

BUT, still the same problem, only the processing screen, nothing else.

Do you have any further suggestions?

If your stuck at the processing screen running APK do the following IN ORDER :

1-wipe ur device from the settings in the phone
2-use blackberry link to reload your device
3-once your done. sign in with ur blackberry ID (BUT DONT RESTORE ANY BACKUP YET)
4-go to setting--software update to make sure ur still running the latest 10.2.1
5-go to settings--app manager -- installing apps -- turn allow apps to ON
6-REBOT

u should be able to install apks now.
