I would like to see them try. BlackBerry already tried this and the guy who supposedly hacked it said he turned on developer mode for sideloading apps. He claimed that was how he hacked it. BlackBerry has no backdoor pipelines so hacking it would be very hard. It can't even be rooted.

If you don't think the best hackers in the world try to hack BlackBerry then you are delusional. Why wouldn't they try for government access, Obama's phone of all. They try and try and they fail!

If hackers succeeded, why would they come out with the exploit? True hackers that hack for that type of information would never reveal their hack.

Neither would most national governments reveal a discovered exploit on their devices. Contrary to the NSA controversy, this type of stuff is not shocking to world governments and bringing attention to exploits helps more hackers than it hurts them. You're basically spreading hacking ideas around. Also, the government or body may want to take advantage of the exploit themselves.

The only hackers that hack and reveal exploits are true amateur hackers that work for prize money. The other occasional informant are security firms; but, they're actually all rather bad at detecting backdoors and exploits. They mostly only become aware of malware once it has been around for a while and is widespread. They would never be able to detect targeted malware only on a couple of head of states' or company executives' devices. NSA has a bunch of active backdoors floating around.

Basically, believing Blackberry is unhackable is extremely naive. If you think Blackberry is even remotely secure, you're basically playing into the hands of dozens of foreign entities who would love all the important people in the world to foolishly self select into a mainstream, exploited device. Blackberry is like a conspicuous badge that says "I have important information! Hack me!"

NSA doesn't have anything floating around, back doors are a myth. I think you watched war games way too many times.

BlackBerry doesn't have to claim to be unhackable, only that it has superior security to the competition.
The same claim was made about Macs for years.

No it's because they can't. You telling me that just about all banks, militarily, and governments use BlackBerry but "nobody can be bothered"? LOL

"Hey let's hack these BlackBerry's and get government, military, and banking information". "Nah let's hack those high school carrying iPhone users". "That'll show them"!

It was secure before Android and iOS overtook it too.

I don't think BlackBerry is any more secure than I as a user make it. But I think I can make my BlackBerry more secure than someone can make an iPhone or Android device.

Sure, with NFC you can tie your CC direct your phone(which your info is then stored on) for payment, banking info of course. A document that has sensitive information on it(though shouldn't be on the phone, but keeping print to go in mind). BBM conversation, assuming you dont want the information being known outside the one party. Everyone has their own reasons, sometime as simply put for the "piece of mind"

If you look up the word "opaque" you get the word "impenetrable". As I already said in another post here, BlackBerry already had the challenge, someone accepted it and failed at trying to find any security vulnerabilities.
