While I love the fact that we can install APKs on our BlackBerry10 phones, I wish the loading times would be way faster.

I showed a friend last night some android apps on my Q10 because he was very interested in it. But after seeing those apps launch 10x slower than on his iPhone he was turned off.

You do realize that iPhones don't turn off most apps. The have everything running in the background
Have him reboot the phone, then compare. It's not much slower

Well, I haven't downloaded leak 10.2.1 but we need to give some time to BlackBerry as their OS is still fresh in the market. In this one year, they have shown tremendous improvement and I am sure the Android apps performance on BB 10 will gradually improve

Those apps don't loads that much faster on Android itself from what I've seen on the S3 Mini I played with.

Gotta lol though... The test bed is a screw up. Comparing Native iOS launch times on and iPhone to ported Android apps running on a VM inside BB10. Yeah, totally fair test...

Never said it was a fair test. Just saying that non crackberry people aren't really impressed and app loading times matter to them. The app on the iPhone wasn't open in the background btw, I made sure the task was closed first.

Well, ask him to load another platform's apps then. I'll be happy to be uninpressed. Not saying they couldn't load faster.

Why would they? All the apps are available and they don't have to leech of another platform.

Hah! Good one! You won't find me going iOS still.

Native apps is a matter of time though. And BlackBerry managed to buy itself enough of it. Did you see how many apps have suddenly gone headless?

    Good apps to come.
