I have a Z10 with software version 10.2.0.424 and I just bought a Z30. I cannot transfer data from Z10 to Z30 as I get a message that the software in Z10 is of a newer version as opposed to the one in Z30 (10.2.0.224). How do I resolve this issue as I am unable to use my Z30 phone. Please help.

There are several alternative ways of going about this but you need to be more specific on which data you're actually looking to transfer and what services you currently use. A lot of data is hosted in the cloud, so when you set up your Z30 there is the potential that it will automatically just resync back to your BlackBerry anyway depending on the services you use.

Your BBM contacts will come back because those are based on your BBID, your contacts will come back via a resync assuming you're using something like GMail that stores etc etc. It's not that you CAN'T use your Z30 right now, it's that you're not willing to without moving your data.

But again, without knowing which data you're looking to directly transfer, it's hard to offer any suggestions.

Did you use the device switch feature in Blackberry link or just Backup and Restore? The latter may cause problems.
Also you should be able to update the Z30 to 10.2.0.424, too.

I've had the same problem. I ended up manually re-do most of the stuff.

Yes Fire Chest Backup can backup and restore both your contacts and your Remember entries (including attachments).

Start by updating your Z30 go to settings update software then follow directions works better on wifi once update is done go to BlackBerry link switch device and follow directions everything will work. Did it last week no issues

You need to first put the sim card in your z30 (then check for updateds) in order to get the most recent o/s from your carrier. It should be the same as your z10 as long as you haven't installed a leak. After the o/s versions are the same just use device switch.

Just went through the same thing with my dad's Z30

Should of said after updating your Z30 go to settings click about check the os make sure it matches your z10 if it doesn't repeat with z10 and os should be the same. I'm in Canada on telus and running .429 on z10 and z30
