I thought I would go with a wipe before installing the newer leak. Phone said when it is done the phone will turn off. Does this process take a long time, I have a small pic on the phone like a sim card shape and a small blue thing going in a circle underneath it. Just wondering if this is normal. Seems to take a very long time to wipe, wish I would have just loaded over it like I usually do.

Yes this is normal it takes a long time to do a security wipe.

thats really long, was your SD card in? If not, I'd think about running the autoloader to be honest, but read up on that first.

My wipes typically take about 40 minutes.

Well mine was done by the time I got my tea and I had this new os by the time I drank it. Os goes fast. Of course now to get stuff working again.

Oh I left my sim in and took out my SD but that was because I missread the warning. Only an issue if you encrypt it.
