So recently, there was a video posted by YouTube user agentjucey displaying a leaked bar file of a Low Light Camera shooting mode.


I've tested it out a little myself, and it works in a way such as HDR does, by having to hold the device still for a few seconds after snapping the photo.


At the moment, I've seen no bugs, but I just thought that all of you should know about this.

Here are some samples taken straight off the video.

This does work for all BlackBerry 10 devices.
If you are interested in sideloading it, be warned that there was a clear warning in the video, saying
"DO NOT SIDELOAD IF YOU ARE ON 10.2.1.1925

WORKS well on 10.2.0.425 and 10.2.1.1055 "

I guess hardware wise Z10 is not at all bad. Quite good infact (I remember it has F/2/2 which is great for pictures). The software piece isn't good enough. Right?

Precisely, the software just hasn't used all that it can yet. If not 10.2.1, 10.3

Agreed. The os is capable of a few neat tricks along with simple things like panorama (which is coming), slow motion, both camera pics (similar to samsung), more frames, editing videos while recording...

The list goes on and on

Previous hybrids and bar files BL released had this before. We just never announced it and made a big post about it, like certain individuals who enjoy fame
This bar file is really really really old. From what we were told, the low light mode was incorperated into all the other functions in later releases
It's very much like HDR mode to be honest. If you took a picture using low light and compared to one in HDR, you wouldn't really be able to tell the difference

If you guys use Wuwei's hybrids or some of the bar packs released by BL, you would have had this bar file without even knowing it! That's why it doesn't work on anything newer than 1055. The bar file came in one of the really early releases of 10.2. I included the manifest.mf data below

This was released at the same time with the ones with the early unlocked runtimes
I don't recall which hybrids they were.

Low Light mode has been around since June or July I think. I remember a leak of some bars (camera, clock etc) that had it in there but I think it was dropped for some time after in other releases
