I bought my Z10 on Kijiji, it was locked to Bell, went to a Wind dealership store that unlocked phones. So the guy got my IMEI number I paid my money and waited to get my unlock code. A couple of days later I call back get the unlock code and my phone is now unlocked.
Now this was at the end of Nov. Now I unlocked the phone because I'm with Virgin mobile, I decided recently that I want to go with Wind smaller network but better cheaper plans(trying to cut cost). On this past Sunday I go into a corporate Wind store to see about switching to them, so they put the sim in, and in network and connections we see a caution that the phone is network locked. Now I'm telling the Wind guy to ignore it because I know that I unlocked it, so we spend the next half hour trying to get the Wind sim to work to no avail.
We give up and I'm thinking that I have to go back to the place that I unlocked it. I go the next day to the place , tell the guy what the problem is...that they give me the unlock code and now a month later my phone is locked again, how is that possible?
He checks my IMEI number and compares it to his records and tells me that I didn't unlock this phone. Basically telling me the the IMEI number that pops up on the screen is not the same that was on record, now that didn't make any sense to me because I did unlock the phone, so the question is how did it get unlocked.

Long story short I looked at what is printed under the battery and what is printed under the battery is the IMEI that I got the unlock code for and at that time it worked.

But now all of a sudden I have two different IMEI numbers and the original one doesn't work which makes no sense to me. I have mention that they took my phone to the guy who was in a back room for like 5-10 mins before he came out and told me he didn't unlock that phone.
Has anyone heard of this before??? And is there a way in that short of a time to change the IMEI number?? Can it be changed back?? Any feedback would be great!!!

It is very unlikely but they could have swapped the motherboard, which would make it a whole different phone, but then your data and accounts and everything would be gone and I am sure you would have noticed that...

So there is no program that can change it? I'm just trying to understand how the phone got unlocked in the first place!!!! The IMEI number thats under the battery was the one that popped up when you type *#06#, and now when it's done, a totally different number pops up.

PINs and IMEIs are hardware coded. They can't be changed. I have no idea what's going on. Getting different IMEIs suggests different hardware. The print on the plate does not matter as the info is stored in the hardare. Change the mother board, keep the housing = two IMEIs.

But that's a theory. I suggest you call them.

Could be a defective unit for all we know.
