Im not sure of its true, but it could be a battery saving feature if it only happens when ur battery reaches 30% or below, lets wait if someone else confirms that.

I'm sure this is a battery saving feature implemented along with the ability to have a quick menu flashlight.

Obviously using the flashlight for periods of time is going to drain the batter so I would assume BlackBerry has locked out the entire flash under 30% trying to just disable the flashlight feature. This would be to stop the "omg my phone just died for no reason" complaints from the general public. While I don't personally mind the 30% limit as my Q10 is never that low on battery a simple solution would be an option in the camera app settings "Enable Flash when batter is low" and have it default to OFF.

If this is a big deal to you I would suggest creating a topic on the BlackBerry support forms (or contributing to a topic if one already exists) as the team has been pretty good about giving the masses what they want.

I don't know if your issue is a battery saving feature, but I'm on the 1925 leak and flashlight works even if I have less than 30% of battery.

I've had that happen on the last leak. It went away after I closed everything. Try vol button reboot see if that fixes it

Is it a 100-1 by any chance? If it is, there's some voodoo thing with the battery status... You can try turning it off, removing the battery, plugging it into a wall charger with the battery removed and after this installing the battery again. This has been found to help re-calibrate STL100-1's battery.
