Sometimes I swipe from the bottom. Sometimes I swipe from the side. Sometimes I have to hold the device upright to be able to exit an app at all.

AM I missing something or have I just been poisoned by PlayBook OS. Can't find anything from BlackBerry on what the expected result is. Any guidance is appreciated.

My screen protector and my wife's case make for failed attempts to leave landscape. My screen protector doesn't fit full edge to edge and has a raised ridge.

I don't have one but I think I remember reading that the Z30 is this way for now at least. The closing gesture only works in portrait mode, or as you say the side in landscape.

If rotation lock is on, then you still have to swipe from the bottom bezel of the phone.
If it is not on then you swipe from the bottom (side)
