Hi. So, since Saturday, I've been using the HTC One along with my Z10. Up until now, I'd been using the Z10 since March, the previous phones before the Z10 was the Curve 9320 and the Samsung Galaxy SIII.

Now, I know a lot of people (myself included) sort of rave on just how well Android apps run on BlackBerry 10 (not the best). However, I noticed a huge difference in load times etc with Android apps between the HTC One and the Z10. Before you tell me the HTC One has better specs (which it does) and how it's native, I wanted to ask people that own a Z30 how well Android apps run on the device, since the Z30 has improved specs than the Z10.

Do they run faster? I really want a Z30, not so much a fan of the HTC One, maybe because I'm sold on the BB10 platform.

    Cheers.

Edit: Title should be "How well" do Android apps run. Never mind.

I am running 10.2.1 on my Z30STA100-5 and they run better than on my Z10. It seems like I can run more apps than I could on my Z10 but that also could be the software. But instagram and hulu run a lot better.

Is there any way to find out wich app will work on the Z30? It drives me nuts that the Apps that I need/want don't run on my Bold9900. I was about to give up on Blackberry altogether and switch to the Nexus 5. Now i'm considering the Z30 but only if I can run a few specific apps.

Need to find out what apps do you need.
File a list. Maybe some members or me if I have free time can check it out for you.

I remember need for speed is not available for Z30. Total bummer since this phone have a quad core gpu and big screen.

They load up pretty quickly on the Z30. Haven't really compared to android devices but it is sufficient enough to feel as good as native apps if your not scrutinizing for seconds lol.

OP, have you gotten 10.2.1.1259 on your Z10 yet? I would do it if you haven?t. It seems to be much faster in android app loading.

    Z10, 10.2.1.1259... what app gap?

After 10.2.1 they run really well for the most part with the improved run time and hardware acceleration. Probably won't run Android apps as well as the HTC One but I have no issues with the speed on the Android apps on my Z30 much better than it was on my Z10.

Friend of min has HTC one and my android candy crush and banking apps (same apps) are quicker in load and use . Im using Z30. He also has more hanging so that he must restart his phone. In 11 months never a hanging or a reboot (only ones with the camera but that solve it self in 2 minutes time so that i could use again the camera).

I loaded up and used Gopro on my Z30 last night. Seems just as fast as on S4. I am running .1925 .

Most android apps seem to load slower the first time, but once loaded they run similar to an android phone. The Z30 runs circles around my old Samsung Rugby.

The first time a android apps is running it's being prepared to get his place on the blackberry device and the second time it's starting just as quick like the best smartphone for android and the cheap samsung are just slower . Lot of apps are quick but also lot of apps are asking to much information from your phone while it's only a game so why checking, sms, email, microfoon, camera , location. Ik really don't like android app, BBm apps are better because you can set these thing off.

It would be super to have a video comparing some apps, running on the Z10, Z30 and GS4 and HTC ONE...I have been asking myself the same question as the OP. And I tested android central on the GS4 in a store and on my my Z10, expect for the loading time, both apps are very similar in terms of smoothness and snappiness...One that feels a bit slower is flipboard
