Miss the miCoach fitness app from BBOS? Still keeping a legacy device around just for that? I do and I was. Now with the 10.2.1.1295 and higher releases, miCoach works quite well.

Working versions:(as reported by users - I haven't tested every possible combination)
    Q10, 10.3.0.296 (leak w/ .442 radio and runtime): Version 2.4.1.16464, Version 2.4.2.16617
    Q10, 10.2.2947 (leak w/ .2759 radio): Version 2.3.1.14651 (patched), 2.4.1.16351 (patched)
Q10, 10.2.1.2141 to .2947 (leaks): Version 2.3.1.14651; used patched version to get route maps working
    Q10, 10.2.1.1925 (leak): Version 2.3.12516, 2.3.1.14651
    Z10, 10.2.1.1925 (leak): Version 2.3.12516
    Q10, 10.3.1.2072 (leak): Version 3.2.1a9cf99

NEW: Latest version 2.4.1.16351 seems to having working playlists. It reduces the volume when coaching is being played. However, I have only gotten it to select playlist when choosing "shuffle."

    Bugs:
-Depending on OS/App version, may have to ensure device volume is maximized in order to hear the coaching.
-App will run fine without modification; however, map will only show the start and end flags for the route (but data is collected as shows up correctly on website). This can be corrected using the handy, simple windows program GMaps_Patcher at http://forums.crackberry.com/android...rvices-914930/
-I have doubts about the "pace" reported - doesn't seem to track the first moments of a run correctly as often my 1st km is the fasted by almost 2 minutes.
-Can't select play list: play lists show up but selecting one does nothing (on 2.3.1.14651) - seems to be corrected on 2.4.1.14651
-App crashes if incoming phone call (see on 10.2.1.2141/2.3.1.14651)

Old info (applied only to 10.2.1.1055 since later OS install the apk directly without having to modify the apk):
Using the methods in this thread, http://forums.crackberry.com/bb10-an...orking-862184/, I was able to remove the Google Maps dependency that seemed to be preventing this app from working when sideloaded. In fact, street and satellite view still work in the app!

This thread is to share this solution as well as report what works and what doesn't.

    Working versions:
    Version 2.1.1.3288 https://www.dropbox.com/s/bv2rr0j7pj...eak-signed.apk
    -working on Q10 running 10.2.1.1055:
    -working on Q10 running 10.2.1.1.259

    Not Working:
Version 2.2.5380 (10.2.1.1055, 10.2.1.1259) - seems to be Google Play Services dependency issue

Once I have installed 10.2.1.1259, I'll report back.

    Tips/Tweaks:
-Make sure your device volume is nearly maxed to ensure that the coaching will be loud enough (I still had to max it out in the app itself).
-It will crash. Don't sweat it - so far, it has always saved my progress up to the point of crashing.
-No, I haven't tried converting this to .bar file because 10.2.1.1055 allows installing .apk directly. Also, I'd be surprised if it worked on a lower version but I haven't tried.

    Bugs:
-It doesn't work well with other music apps. For instance, when an alarm started while the app was running, miCoach crashed. When miCoach tried to do a 1-km notification while I was playing audio in the music player, miCoach crashed.

Where do get older versions of apps? I couldn't get the latest v2.3.12516 to work using Moneytoo's method. It just crashes after install.

I just installed the 1259 leak and can confirm that using Snap I was able to install MiCoach on my Z10. It runs up and and I was able to view past workouts. I haven't gone running with it yet so I can't say that it is fully working, but so far so good.

Without having the modify the app? That would mean all my work was for nothing! Nuts - didn't think of trying straight up.

But miCoach uses Mapview 2(API v2). So how is it possible that it's working without patching? Anyway, let me try it out.

EDIT: it actually uses API v1. But good to know that no need to patch some of those v1 apps which needed patching on 10.2.1.1055.

I just tested it myself. miCoach works without any modification on 10.2.1.1259. That's great. Which means the runtime is getting better, because I remember it didn't work on 10.2.1.1055.

Yuppers all good to go on the latest leak .1925.

MiCoach also loads well (with the latest leak) on the Z10 for the others waiting to find out.

I installed micoach on 1925 too. Everything seems to work fine. Went outside and catched gps signal fast. Wonder if it tracks accurate. And viewing your workout on map shows just your starting point and finishing point. I mean on map you only see "a" and "b". no purple line in streets on how you get from point a to point b. Thats a little bit annoying. Mb you need to have working google maps and then it will show everything correctly. P. S. Sorry for my bad english

The version I had tweaked and run on 1055 and 1259 had Google Maps working in that it showed my track. I just tried the latest version of miCoach (downloaded with Snap) and now all I see are the start and end flags too.

I'd never tried before. Just did and it shows the playlists but selecting one does nothing.

On an unrelated note, I'd like to start running with heart rate monitor. Has anyone tried to see if the android BT in this runtime will allow such devices to talk to miCoach?

I tried running by using the native music player and it didn't crash but every time the voice coach came on it would pause the music. I'd have to hit play again to resume.

Everything else works great. So close on this one....!

Just installed 2.3.1.14651 and seems to function correctly on my Q10 (10.2.1.1925, leaked with .1899 radio). But since my knee blew up, I haven't tried running with it yet. Map of route still doesn't work.

Might have found an answer to my own question: looks like miCoach 2.3.1 support HRM but only on android 4.3 and higher. I think the runtime in 10.2.1 is 4.2.2 so probably I can't use this app with HRM. Time to start researching replacements, I guess.
