Things might be a little better if BlackBerry had an official Instagram app... but since they don't/won't, most people that will be posting are people who have new iPhones or Androids, that are probably upgrading from old BlackBerrys and have had bad experiences with them and have had their eye on newer technology.

Maybe they'd know about BlackBerry 10 devices if BlackBerry did any marketing, but they didn't really, so people never considered a BlackBerry 10 device.

I've just searched #BlackBerry on Instagram (iGrann) and the first selfie with a phone was 'I just got a Q10'. I didn't see any of what the op described.

It seems the people who want the actual Instagram app prefer the name or have never used iGrann which is light years better than the Instagram app.

If so this should change overnight when iGrann is finally in BlackBerry World.

I have seriously considered getting a BB10 for my daughter because it lacks Instagram and some of the other social apps. As a parent of a teen, cyber bullying is a real problem and a device that limits access can be of assistance to us parents in this day and age. The bad side is the Z10 was quite pricey when she was due for her upgrade. She has an Android at the moment but I make sure she does not have Instagram, Snap chat etc on her device.

The "like" and "hate" are over rated. The "like" - wish it will be in my Xmas stocking. The "hate" never used a bb10. Possibly never even played with a bb10 handset, since it is such a rarely spotted items in USA.

Seems like there are enough BB10 users that use instagram to start taking over the #blackberry hashtag. Just need to get the word out. Also, try the #IGonBB hashtag for twitter instagram postings.

People on Instagram bash blackberry because there are no blackberry users on instagram to defend it… simple as that… if blackberry had an official instagram app, then yes, you'd see more support for blackberry but you don't… If i were blackberry, i would have used all that bring developers on board money on a few brand named apps… Mainly instagram, snap chat, and BBM (cross platform at LAUNCH) but they didn't and they are in the hole they are in now….

I think, the best strategies for blackberry at this point is

A. Remove all models from circulation in developed nations except BB10 devices and create a huge marketing campaign to migrate BBOS users to BB10 through free something's to upgrade… Could have called it Merry Switchmas or something cheesy lol…

B. Take away the Blackberry from the device… and create a different brand…. like the Equus and Hyundai or Nissan and Infinity or Lexus and Toyota.. It could be the (some luxurious name) powered by BB10… and give even easier access to the google play store…

Bottom line is people don't have a favorable view or the word Blackberry.. they have to take the 'Blackberry' out of the device
