Just came across this at the N4BB website and thought I share this with my fellow CrackBerry members. Cant wait for this official update to get released from BlackBerry.

The answer "yes" was in reference to the fact that apks will be able to be installed natively in 10.2.1. It was not confirmation that 10.2.1 will be out in January.

I can however confirm that it is currently targeted to be released before the end of March next year.

Technical Acceptance in January supposedly, carrier roll out.... welll... you all know how that works. Aside from that, the answer seems more about APK's than anything else given, I dunno, it was an Android developers event lol. However, since I already mentioned it last night. I can add more fuel to the fire as well but alas, it's just rumors and who knows what the real timeline looks like these days.

• 10.2.1 aka 10.2+ MR - TA January - L,N,R,A
• 10.2.1 MR - June (2014) - L,N,R,A,C
• C - Series Touch TA also is/was expected in January
• C - Series Keypad TA is/was expected in March / April

I'm thinking late feb for the latest, jan for the earliest , because their up to 10.2.1.14xx (from what I heard maybe even 15xx) already in testing, and if it's anything like 10.2 it's probably going to stop in 17xx range as official??

Seriously?! March 31?! that would be way too late.

As I noticed in 10.2 rollout, most carriers released it on the same week (late October), so maybe we can say 10.2.1 will be released late January or early February? Maybe I'm just guessing.

What about BlackBerry live 2014? I mean they have to release something in BlackBerry live, like they did in 2013 right?

So it would make more sense to release 10.2.1 early February, but again I'm just guessing.

One thing I'm SURE about is that 10.2.1 is gonna be released way before March 2014.

So most likely Verizon will skip a release of 10.2, and wait till March to do a 10.2.1, or they will release 10.2 "soon" and skip 10.2.1 and wait till June for 10.2.X? Carrier's are not in the habit of testing and releasing updates ever few months, there is a cost associated with them to pushing these out. With the poor sales of the BB10 lineup and the few number of devices, I'm not sure they have any real motivation to do four or five updates a year.

How many does Apple push out every year? How many does a single Android Device get each year?

As long as there are leaks or at least one carrier in the world pushing these out, I'll be happy. But for an average consumer and for BlackBerry's own benefit.... the need to release maybe two major updates a year via the carriers, that redo the whole OS (like 10.2.1) and then release small updates to individual modules via BlackBerry World (like the runtime update they pushed out).

If you are willing to install a leak. 10.2.1.1055 is very stable and an amazing feature offering.

Just make sure to back up and restore through BlackBerry Link as the leaks with being your device to factory

Did you notice that all updates take about 3 month +- 2 weeks? By January 23 it will be 3 month since 10.2 update so expect 10.2.1 to be released late January or early February.
