So I had my newly bought q10 fully charged before bed, disconnected it from the charger and put it next to my bed. The next morning, I woke up to find that it was out of battery. Anyone know why this happened? Imo perhaps the screen was left on, but then again I put it in 30 second screen timeout.

The Q battery is a beast. You could have left something running or maybe signal issues. That's not typical Q 10 battery behavior at all.

You probably had background processes draining the battery. Such as email syncs, contact indexing, could be anything but it's a normal occurrence for the battery to take a hit when you first receive it.

If it was newly-bought and set up it was likely still syncing. Best to leave it on charge overnight and on for a few days so it can sync properly. If there was an OS update when you set it up there is some settling there too. The battery life will improve after the settling-in period.

I usually get over 30 hours, so maybe it was indexing? Since it was brand new

I was about to write the exact same thing. I've been plugging mine in every other day. I have this weird theory that a battery should be used to near capacity before going full charge rather than plugging it in when it's only halfway down or three fourths. So yeah, I get two days per charge here. Either you've got a bad battery or you've got things left on that you don't need (like leaving bluetooth and NFC on when not needed for example.) Out of the box my NFC was enabled and I don't even use it so shutting that off was one of the first things I did.

My Q10 battery life has kinda gone to hell. I go from full to about 50% after a few hours of moderate use. I'm not "nice" to the battery (on and off the charger, different chargers, all the time), but still...

I had a huge battery drain when I first got my Q10. Turns out I had a update that had failed and it kept trying to update. Check your Blackberry World and see if there is any running updates.

Actually, li-ion batteries are supposed to last longer when they are charged more often and their lifespans are shortened by allowing them to discharge completely. Don't take my word for it, Google around a bit for the science behind them

I usually get a little over a day from my Q10. This seems like a strange issue. If all else fails...manufacturer's warranty

Q10 is not a beast nor is it phenomenal. My 5s with much more data usage has better battery mgmt than the q10. BlackBerry did do better on it than the 9900.

Gets the job done but nothing to write home about.

    Q10 battery wtf?-img_00000003.png

I think the battery life is amazing on the Q10, 14hrs so far and I been using the heck out of it. The Q10 isn't perfect, but the battery isn't a problem that's for sure.
