Last night approximately 1am in the morning, my phone downloaded a 33mb file from RIM. Has anyone experienced this before?

I'm running 10.2.1.1055 with diagnosis options off.

I think PIM services are the email accounts syncing. I suppose if you had one of the free email accounts like Google, it may be sending meta data to their servers.

It just happened again. I'm not sure where the data is going and downloading from.

I have 2 Gmail, 1 yahoo and Facebook. I'm assuming it's Facebook downloading friend contacts (which I have that option off in the settings)

From doing some research, it seems like Google mails are using quite of bit of pim services.

I switched my device to z10 and it did the same for it.

I wonder what kind of information they are taking.

Lol. PIN services actually takes up quite bit of battery life when it's active.

Am I the only one experiencing this?

No I am as well, this and "system" are using more battery than the display, which is no way possible the way it should be functioning, but alas it's a leak, will probably be acknowledged and fix at some point. It lessened when i turned LTE off too. Still trying to figure out why. If you want to see it in detail, turn on wifi and watch the traffic going through your router.

I didn't think of the wifi trafficking idea. I'll try that, thanks.

I feel better that I'm not the only one experience it. Thought my phone was defective or something along that line.

How many PIM accounts do you use?

It seems like it's always been like this. It's not everyday but it seems to hike up data and battery power once or twice a week.

This is the PIM service synchronizing your inbox, calendar and contacts list with Gmail. BlackBerry is concerned that there will be discrepancies. PIM is not unique to BlackBerry either. I had 2GB of data used recently while sleeping. I have over 3000 contacts.

Go into your account settings for each account. One at a time select email, calendar and contacts. Scroll to the bottom and set syncing to once every 24 hours or manual, your choice.
