I read some reviews claiming the device uses gorilla glass. One site even claimed the z30 is using gorilla glass 2. For example

Fat chance.

From a high level point of view, there is nothing 'leading edge' on this device. It's not a trendsetter, it merely uses 'older' proven materials.

Besides, it was made to be cost effective.

But I still love every bit of my z30 gorilla glass or not.

My 2 cents:
My Q10 doesn't claim to have a Gorrila Glass, but 5 months later I have no visible scratches and I don't use any sort of protection. I dropped 2-3 times and often it is my pocket with something else - another phone of thumb drive, rarely keys.
So that gorilla glass might be another marketing hype, or vice versa BlackBerry is using something similar that they don't advertise.

Ah my 9900 has been without a screen protector for a year. And I beat it up. No scratches. My work IPhone in one week two scratches. I think BlackBerry tests their product well as it is for the corporate world.

I think it has the same glass as the Z10, Touch on Lens. This is produced in Taiwan and they are BlackBerry's supplier.

Nah I doubt that. The Z30s screen is much smoother. Honestly to me it seems much more fragile than my Z10.
