Sounds good! Please be careful in case your cellular is still working on it, I'd hate to see it break if it was working before.

I really want my cellular back, on my 3G plus playbook tired of so many wifi hotspots which do not connect in the city.
My tablet still displays Mobile network but lost sim recognition after loading 2.1.0.1753 os which was for wifi playbook release. Now I want to give a try the one for 4G LTE OS fix

I've had 2.1.0.1753 on my LTE Playbook since July, and I got that update OTA. Was that not normal?

Perfectly normal if your SIM's carrier released it. AT&T PlayBooks are stuck on 1282, and some other carriers on 1526, etc etc so this is for those folks.

Some users who upgraded to the leaked version before their carrier released 1753 may also be stuck (although they could do a repair on BDM and fix it most likely)

    UPDATED

Rats, still "no sim detected". Must be something different in the radio file for Verizon. Sim worked before update, but had other problem.
Oh well, thanks for the effort.

    NEVER MIND!!!!

Sim didn't install during setup, but tried again after the system booted and the sim shows up now as
    connected. Thanks very very much.

Wow, I never even contemplated it working for Verizon, but I guess they do use LTE band 4 which the PB supports. It will never pick up their band 13 however.

Curious, when the Verizon SIM is in there, is there an "official" OS it can restore to on Blackberry Desktop Manager? If so, which one?

    Hi

    I have a 4G playbook with 2.0.1.668
While I be able to use this to update to 2.1.0.1753, or would there be an intermediate update to take first:?

You can go straight to 2.1.0.1753. You only need to do incrementals to try and downgrade to lower OS'.

Actually, I bought it off of ebay, not knowing what it was. The owner did a security wipe, and could not connect to the user agreement after
the wipe. I bought it in this state. The 4g radio worked, but would not set up. Blackberry desktop manager would not restore it with or without
sim. Spent several hours with BB support, and they were going to have me send it in for repair. Got it working by downloading 1753, but
the radio died during the process. Called BB to check on my return box, and the told me I had a prototype device, and would not repair it.
The plabook has a Verizon 4G logo on the back, and I used the sim from my z10 and z30 to test it. Since it is a Verizon branded playbook,
I'm guessing all bands are there.

VERY interesting. What is the hardware ID on the bottom? For example, typical 4GLTE PBs are REG51LW.

BTW, looked up the fcc id for it, it IS band 13 (700mhz).

well I updated to the latest, and it works fine, I do not have a sim card to test it, will do that when I get one.
I am now able to connect to blackberry world and download apps, which is nice.

That right there is a heck of a find for die hard BlackBerry fans on Verizon. It's interesting that they went as far with that PlayBook to actually put Verizon branding on it. My test AT&T PlayBook does not have any branding.

You got it off eBay? Were there any more? That model number is definitely unique and I have never seen it before.

I'm afraid not. It was an individual who was selling two playbooks in one auction. The 4g which would not setup, and a 64mb with
a power button that had been pressed too far into the unit. Got both for about 270. Have no idea how he came by them.

Yeah, that Verizon PB is the equivalent of an HP TouchPad Go. It's an awesome find, but a brick wall at the same time when it comes to updates. A real unicorn for sure. Hopefully our solution works on that model since it's primarily a CDMA version.

I used my Z10 to create this CrackBerry madness!
