This morning I woke up to find an App World update for the BlackBerry Bridge app. As many of us have noted in the forums, Bridge would not connect when installed with the latest leak.

Upon installation of the update, Bridge seems to be working perfectly again. I'm sure this news will bring joy to those of us still clinging to our PlayBooks.

Check out BlackBerry Bridge in BlackBerry World! You can find it at BlackBerry Bridge - BlackBerry World

    My BlackBerry History: 6510, 7520, 7100i, Storm 9500, Storm 2, Torch 9850, PlayBook 64gb, Z10...

Now the only thing that is missing from getting back to where we where two years ago is the caller id.
    Nice work.

They seriously must be releasing another tablet. I gave up on my PlayBook 6 months ago. They wouldn't be spending time on a feature that only works with a dead product if they weren't thinking of repeating their mess

The Playbooks are installed at bigger customers than just us consumers. When a large customer complains about functionality of their existing Playbooks with the new OS10 phones, it is in BlackBerry's interest to fix it.

I posted this last night when I found it, but as I stated in my thread, I still can't get the device to pair. Going to maybe uninstall bridge, reinstall, restart both devices and try again. Anyone else do the update without any success?

I had to uninstall Bridge on the phone, reinstall the newer version of Bridge, and then repair the phone/Playbook. Once I did that, it worked.

    Glad to have it back.

Uninstalled on Z, deleted paired devices from both Z and PB, reboots all around, install bridge, pair still didn't go through.

I was trying to manually do it, and I think that was the issue... I did the bar code scan instead and it worked immediately... not sure why that worked, but it did and that's enough for me.

Sms and all that jazz working fine. Glad to have that feature back.

At this point, surely they could just recompile the code for Playbook and release for us to play with.

Good news on the bridge functionality update, I may install the leak now then as that was a little show stopper for me.

You think that sms function on PlayBook is important in corporate land? Most corporates are still OS7.. Sad but true, my neighbor was just issued a brand new..wait for it... Bold! This is a major company too and she's no small time employee either, she ranks high up in the offices. I laughed at her, and still am. I feel so bad. Anyways back to bridge, I still think blackberry is building bridge back up to release a tablet in 12-18months

A new BB tablet would be fantastic. Us faithful BB users would definitely buy up a BB10 tablet, but I doubt they're gonna win any market share with it, and it will end up being another liss write off. High hopes for Chen to gain some momentum and get new products into new customers hands.

Two points, the latest OS broke Bridge, so they needed to fix it. Second point these OS7 customers could be future OS10 customers and will need their existing PlayBooks working with the new phones.
