Should the clock be dimly lit in bedside mode when the phone isn't charging? Mine only stays lit when charging.

Up until OS 10.2.1, you couldn't have the device in bedside mode without being connected to power, I believe.

So this whole thing about being to invoke bedside mode manually I think is brand-new.

On my Z10 with 10.2.1, manually invoking bedside mode without power connected, the backlight has the same timeout period as any other time when using it not connected to power.

I could enter bedside mode manually whenever I wanted since the beginning. If the phone is connected to a power source it enters bedside mode with a dimmed clock constantly showing. If you press the on/off switch once, the clock disappears and the screen is powered off. If you enter bedside mode without being connected to a power source I think the screen will automatically shut down within a timeout period.

I've always been able to have bedside mode.

Just click the on/off switch once and it's off

It would be nice if the clock could stay on. Not plugged in

That would be quite the power drain to have your screen on all night. It only does so while plugged in for that reason.

I guess it makes sense that it wouldn't stay on not charging given the battery drain. It would be great if an update would come out allowing it to stay dimly lit without charging and draining the battery though.

    Thanks for the responses!

Yes, it was probably planned to work in conjunction with a charging cradle.

Yeah. But even when the light goes off it still remains in bedside mode
