    My girlfriend just got a new z10 and she was having no problems opening the pictures app. I updated the phone to 10.2 and now whenever the pictures app icon is clicked it tries to open but then immediately closes. The thumbnail opens for a split second before going away. I tried restarting it and stuff but honestly have no clue what to try next. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and how they fixed the issue.

    Is that an OFFICIAL update through her carrier or did you load it from some other source? Carrier? OS version?

    Official release through Rogers. She's on 10.2.0.424.

    What kind of restart did you do?

    How about

    Try a restart:

    Press and HOLD both Vol Up/Down buttons. Keep holding while the screen goes fully black, keep holding through the Black/White logo and when the Colored Logo shows up, release those buttons.

    If you have the STL100-1 variant the volume button reset method doesn't work.

    We've tried both those types of restarts as well as pulling the battery. Nothing seems to work.

    I am not sure if that app can be found as a bar file and sideloaded.

    If no one else has suggestions, you might want to try reloading the OS.
